About Education Henley:

Education Henley is an exciting and vibrant partnership between all the schools in and within 5 miles of Henley, from primary settings to sixth form college. It exists to create greater opportunities for all our children and also to support the wonderful community and facilifies we all enjoy and share in Henley.

The partnership has already organised shared training for our sports staff at the local sports clubs, an E-safety talk for our parents in the Town Hall, careers advice for the older children, sports fixtures including the Year 2 Football Festival hosted by Rupert House and the Great School Run, which is a free to enter cross-country run in Stonor Park, which this year attracted over 370 runners from more than 50 local schools. There have been a number of creative opportunities for the children, including the current River-themed exhibition at the River & Rowing Museum, the collaborative artwork to celebrate the King's Coronation (which can be seen on the easel, and which usually hangs in the Town Hall) and the 'Portrait of a Loved one' competition.

In partnership with The Portrait Foundation, the competition attracted over 140 children from all over Henley to create artworks, with all entrants' works exhibited at The Amber Gallery in the Market Place for a week-long exhibition. The winners in each of the categories are shown here, along with an explanation as to why they chose to visualise the person they did. We hope you will agree that these, as with all the artworks entered, are fabulous examples of our children's amazing artistic abilities!

In addition, as a result of the links the partnership has with Henley Festival, musicians from Henley College, Shiplake College and Sire William Borlase's Grammar School are performing today on the Rise Stage, which is an incredible experience and opportunity for them to showcase their musical talent. We are most grateful to the Festival organisers for so generously supporting Education Henley and the talented young people of Henley and the surrounding area in these ways.
